Perfect way to celebrate the summer or to decorate a classic home or a lake house cottage! Four blocks create this stunning traditional “whig rose” design. Given that you are working with wool, no edges need to be turned under and the process is simple and relaxing! A true heirloom in the making!

MATERIALS LIST:
Appliqué:
(1) Catalina Wool Bundle from Weeks Dye Works -OR- a variety of wool fat eighths in the following (9) colors: red, coral, peach, white, light blue, medium blue, light green, medium green, light tan. As a substitute, you can of course use REGULAR COTTON FABRICS for this appliqué as well.
Background:
1 1/4 yds. Denim Chambray from MODA -OR- denim color solid -OR- similar
Sashing:
(6) 1/4 yds. a variety of small cream prints [red & blue accents on the creams are a fabulous bonus]
Backing:
2 3/4 yds.
Binding:
3/8 yd. [we used the same color as our background]
Other recommended supplies:
Catalina Thread box from Aurifil Threads -OR- threads to match all the wool colors. Soft Fuse sheets -OR- roll for wool appliqué. As an alternative, Glue Baste It. Permanent marker and good sharp scissors like Karen Buckley's "Perfect" Scissors.
