I love house quilts. Pretty sure there has never been one that I have met and not liked. There is something just so classic and nostalgic about them that I get drawn in every time. I even wrote a book of all house quilts and projects [you might want to check it out if you are a house lover like me]. The minute I saw this vintage quilt, I knew I wanted to make a version of our own. It it classic and yet completely unique as well, as I have never seen another house quilt like this one. Simplified piecing and no templates characterizes our version, of course! Choose the classic reproduction style with rows of solid houses or the new fresh version of floral houses and a riot of color!
Fabrics: The scrappy version of the quilt uses all Somerset fabrics. The classic "row style" version uses a variety of Fig Tree solids mixed with MODA Bella Solids.
