You all know that I love color. One might say that I live for color and I look for it everywhere I go and base all of my design and quilt work on how the color palette plays with each other and how the colors create a feel or an emotion. I am all about the color. HOWEVER... I am also a little bit obsessed with the Farmhouse interior decorating movement and the neutral backdrop. I love white painted furniture and white chipped china, and at heart there is a lot of Farmhouse vintage style in me. Sooo... I thought it was time to take a the plunge and make an ALL NEUTRAL, LOW VOLUME quilt project and bring you along for the ride. Yup, all creams, a few light tans and very soft greys and that's it! No other color than the tiny little prints in the ivory and cream prints. For those of you who are unsure what the term "LOW VOLUME" means, here is my definition= low volume refers to prints that don't have a lot of contrast in them, don't have a lot of color and are soft and "low" in their volume. Think turning the radio up and then turning it down... these are definitely prints that are all "turned down" and there is very little contrast within it. The quilt is meant to feel washed and soft and vintage due to the cream palette and the simple blocks scattered throughout. The palette will be some of our current favorite FIG TREE creams mixed in with cream prints from all of my favorite MODA designer, including Mince and Simpson, MODA basics, Sherri & Chelsi, Corey Yoder, 3 Sisters, Kate Spain, Primitive Gatherings and more. I am not done collecting and will keep adding lovely little cream prints as I find them! Each month you will get (4) different cream and ivory ¼ yds. to work with. You will also get instructions for simple, classic blocks to make with said quarter yards. For example, one month might be Churn Dashes and Nine-patches. Another might be Flying Geese and Ohio Stars. All classic, all fairly simple, all on the same scale. We will also be cutting plain squares from each print and at the end of the program, we will have several different setting options for you on how to finish your quilt, combining all of those classic blocks and plain squares. I am SO EXCITED to see how this quilt will develop! Given the simple blocks and soft colors [that will not show errors], this is a great quilt for beginners or if someone has been wanting to jump into quilting. Feel free to share with your quilting friends!
We will also be offering FINISHING KITS separately closer to the end of the program.
HERE IS ALL THE INFO YOU NEED ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
• Each month you will receive (4) ¼ yds. various cream and ivory LOW VOLUME prints. You will receive more than 12 yards of fabric by the end and then some!
• Each month you will also receive, printed Instructions for the classic vintage inspired blocks we are making that month.
• The project is going to start next month in June, 2017 and goes for 12 months through to next May, 2018.
• Other than the photo here and the info above, the project is a mystery. That's just how we roll over here at Fig Tree!! We work right along side of you all year long and don't know how it will all come together until you do... well we might be just a little ahead but definitely not by much!
• The cost is the small registration fee of $4.81 plus $19.00 plus shipping per month for 12 months. The program and membership fee can not be cancelled. PLEASE BE READY TO COMMIT FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR BEFORE YOU SIGN UP. Paypal cannot be used for block of the month programs. If you order anything else along with this order, it will be separated out and shipped now and charged for shipping separately.
Today when you sign up, YOU WILL ONLY BE CHARGED THE REG. FEE OF $4.81. The first monthly fee will be charged to your card in June and then every month for a total of 12 months.
U.S. shipping will be $6.75 per month.
Canada shipping will be $24.50 per month.
International shipping will be $34.00 per month.
Please note that if the US Postal Service changes its postal rates during the year, we will need to update ours to reflect that change. We also really want to apologize for the crazy international shipping. We only use USPS flat rate services and are at the mercy of the post office. We are sorry for that!
