I don't often get to quilt just for myself but once in a while I just get too excited about some idea in my head to not take the time to do it! This was one of those quilts. I have been seeing Union Jack blocks and quilts being made over the last year or so but none of them were exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that felt like summer and that was simple to construct. All the blocks I saw used templates or cutting methods that looked complicated or had a lot of fabric waste. So I decided to make my own pattern.... surprise, surprise. I combined all of my favorite florals from the last couple of groups and voila... Jumping Jacks was born.
Kit includes all the fabrics you see here, including the border, background and the scrappy binding. Pattern sheets are also included. The floral fabrics in the kit are enough to make (2) full quilts [you would have to add more background and sashing, etc] as shown or a quilt and table runner or a much bigger quilt. Hope you have a lot of fun with your Union Jacks! Personally we couldn't stop with just the quilt. Come see the table runner on the blog in a few days....
