Minis are my absolute new favorite thing to do. In between all the larger quilts that I am working on, there is just something wonderful about starting and finishing a mini quilt in an afternoon. It is a perfect way to use up scraps or a Layer Cake or mix and match your favorite new collection with a little bit of goodies from your stash. This Mini Sail Away is a perfect project for a beach cottage or for the rest of us who wish we had a beach cottage! The nautical theme is so much fun to work with! It is also a wonderful project for a small boys room, whether one block or all three as in the pattern. Surrounded by simple checkerboards, these mini sail boats are fun to make with no special templates or methods. Standard size Sail Away is also available.

Fabric collections used include Avalon, Tapestry and an array of our favorite low-volume cream prints from various collections. The aqua background is from Avalon but is also an almost direct match to MODA Bella Solid #169.
