Mahalo means thank you in Hawaiian and along with Aloha is considered one of the 2 most important words in the Hawaiian language, words that embody the spirit of the islands. During a recent family visit to Hawaii, Mahalo became a word that we used many times and felt like the perfect word to describe our sentiment when we were working on this quilt. This is one of those patterns that once you have made it once, you will come back to it again and again to showcase many of your favorite collections. If you are familiar with our Vanilla & Blooms pattern, this is a simplified and more straight forward version of that quilt and is constructed in the same manner. It is the most simple assembly ever, with nothing but a nine-patch of sorts and a matching square but you do need to have room to lay out the quilt at least row by row, since one block determines the fabric for the next. This is certainly one of those addictive projects that you just won't want to put down until you are done and it is truly an absolutely perfect way to showcase the entire collection.
